Without a shadow of doubt, our government is responsible for breaches of the third and fourth UN conventions, the UN convention against torture, and international law.
It’s worth noting the echoes in Griffin’s account of the allegations of lawyers representing the families of Iraqi civilians that the British government approved a systematic policy of torture of detainees in Iraq, on which more here.
